Rev. Jacques J. Morisset has been the senior pastor of Bethel Church of God Ministries Inc. in North Lauderdale, FL since its establishment in February 2000. Although he is a US citizen, he was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  He grew up in a Christian family; his father was the senior pastor at the biggest church in Haiti, L’Eglise de Dieu de la Rue du Centre, of about 5,000 members at the time. Yet, Rev. Morisset’s desires to enter the pastoral ministry did not emerge until many years later.

After high school, Rev. Morisset moved to New York and attended Radio Corporation of America Institute to study engineering technology. He majored in computer and communication technology, in which he has worked all his life. He began his career in the financial districts in New York, working as a computer engineer. In 1979, Rev. Morisset returned to Haiti and worked in telecommunications. He became the chief engineer of the government’s TV network, Télévision Nationale d’Haïti, where he worked for 11 years. In 1990, he returned to the states, specifically Florida, which has been his home since. He worked for 15 years as a Chief Engineer at Trinity Broadcasting Network, Channel 45 in Miami.

In 1994, Rev. Morisset returned to school and earned a bachelor’s degree in Ministry at Logos University. He also took some course with Liberty University in order to help in the propagation of the gospel. In 1998, he and his wife were helping another church but under God’s calling, they founded Bethel Church of God Ministries, Inc. Along with his wife, his three children: Jocelyn Jr., Richard and Patricia joined him in the ministry. Jocelyn Jr. heads Bethel’s Symphony Orchestra along with the Audio/Visual Department, while Richard heads the Youth Ministry and Patricia, the Praise Dance Ministries.
